I had this really cute planter that my grandma gave me. I just love it! Unfortunately, I do not have a green thumb. Well, really, I am not good at watering plants as often as they'd like to be watered.
SO...I wanted to do something with this planter, and this is what I came up with.
Normally, I have my weekly menu hanging at the top. I also have these pretty clothes pins to hang invitations, reminders, etc. The flower pot normally has the markers for our family calendar which is hanging near by.

Hadley-
What a great idea!!!
I love it that you're a dairy farmer's wife, I taught with one a few years ago--they are a unique breed (in the very best way!).
Thanks for stopping by my blog--I had a garden tea party last Val Day, I'd be happy to share anything you need to know. The theme was "mad hatter tea party" to encourage the ladies to wear their hats! Our back yard leaves a lot to be desired so I jazzed up our back patio with paper lanterns, HUGE silk flowers and mismatched EVERYthing! The garden theme is fun cuz you can use watering cans, pots, all manner of flowers, etc. I highly recommend them! :)
For a garden tea party at our church, I made the favors. It was a small terra-cotta pot with moss tucked into it, then I took ballpoint pens and attached them to a silk flower (mine were gerber daisies) with florist tape. Oh, and I tied on a ribbon bow. I put one at each place as decoration (you could attach a piece of paper with their name for a place card, too), then it was a lovely pen to take home!
ANYway, if you want to see more picture or have any questions, e-mail me! I love to help! :)

P.S. I love the name of your blog! My family drinks so much milk (3-4 gallons/week) that I would love to have a cow or two here!
