This is Daisy's box...it contains a Dora drawing story book, crayola color wonder pad and markers, mazes from a book that I laminated for re-use, wet erase markers, a notepad, and two coloring books with crayons.
Petunia's box included a few coloring books, notepad, wipe off letter writing activity, colorwonder set, and mini-erasers.
I also tossed in a few snacks.
Here are pictures of each of the girls before we got on the road...
Another thing we did was have a scavenger hunt and roadside Bing-o. I printed them off of http://www.momsminivan.com/ and laminated them. I had a few prizes for completing the games (they were both winners) such as gummy worms (a family favorite) and swim rings from the dollar store.
Here is Daisy looking for scavenger hunt items.
Here is Petunia working with our babysitter on her scavenger hunt. The babysitters was a real key in keeping the girls entertained on the road and once we got to the beach!

This is awesome!! Your ideas are great and I really enjoy your blog! Already joined Super Summer Swap and posted about it too (grabbed one of your cute buttons). Stop by my site, www.ourhomeschoolfun.blogspot.com and check out my giveaway for a Funky Artist Paint set! Just doing it for fun:-)!
I wish we could bring a babysitter on road trips...unfortunately we don't even have room in our car to bring an extra person! Those kits you put together look great!
What fun! Your boxes are filled with lots!
Where did you get the boxes that you put everything in?
Funny, I am flying alone with my kids next month and I was going to do a post asking for suggestions of things to keep them busy.
I got the boxes at Joann's. I caught them on sale, but they send out coupons quite often too...
You are so good about planning ahead! I want to be more like that. I like the boxes that you used to load everything into. Thanks for the tip on where to find them. Hopefully they aren't all gone b/c of the sale:)
Awesome ideas, and I'll definitely reread this thread in early August, when I prepare for cross-country flight with Mouse. Now, can I borrow your babysitter? LOL.
That sounds like a fun car trip. How cool that you had a babysitter to take along!
WAIT A SECOND! Isn't the babysitter cheating?
I just noticed your new header and button! It's so cute!
Wow! Aren't you lucky to have a babysitter on vacation. Your kits are a fun idea, as well as the scavenger hunt and bingo. Thanks for all of the great tips.
